AtContact Communications LLC is a pioneer in delivering innovative broadcast, transport and IP connectivity solutions to rural customers around the globe.  AtContact was founded in 1997 to service the demand for high speed data, audio and video communication in rural and remote, unserved and underserved regions of the globe, including the growing demand for public safety and rural broadband.

As part of its overall strategy to deliver high-speed connectivity, AtContact acquired a 52-acre satellite uplink facility in Douglas County in 1999. This site has been developed into the AtContact Teleport combining a fully equipped satellite uplink center and broadcast playout facility. AtContact installed fiber optics to the Qwest facility in Castle Rock and microwave redundancy.

AtContact currently provides comprehensive broadcast, streaming and data services using fiber, microwave and satellite technologies from its secure satellite earth station in Colorado.  AtContact provides affordable VSAT IP services to rural locations, including remote cities and towns in Alaska through its Alaska Internet Hub, as well as provides IP connectivity and multimedia streaming to Antarctica.   AtContact also delivers video programming to EchoStar’s Cheyenne facility through a redundant fiber connection.

The Sedalia teleport provides broadcast data and digital or analog audio/video satellite services.  It is located in a 3600 sq. ft. telephone company built control center, which is manned by experienced operations and engineering personnel. The transmitted point-to-point or point-to-multipoint services can be received in all North and South American locations and in Western Europe via all available commercial satellites.  Currently AtContact provides comprehensive broadcast services using fiber, microwave and satellite technologies to rural areas in the Continental US, Alaska, Canada, the Caribbean, Central and South America, and to research stations in Antarctica.

In late 2009, AtContact began work to open a new downlink hub and teleport facility in Anchorage, Alaska to service its growing client base in the State.  This hub, which became operational in early 2010, provides downlink backhaul services for voice and data to Alaskan clients to allow them to backhaul directly into the Alaskan regional fiber and voice network.  This improves performance as it limits the need to downlink to the lower 48 and then bring data and voice calls back to Alaska via fiber links.

AtContact has had a focus on optimizing an IP over satellite environment from its inception, and has built one of the best packet-by-packet traffic management systems in the industry to serve IP-driven applications.  When it comes to powering the next generation of high bandwidth applications, AtContact is ideally positioned to provide the best in broadband service to some of the world’s most remote locations.

AtContact has focused on staffing our operation with staff members with deep engineering backgrounds and strong network architecture experience.  This has allowed us to not only set up a data pipe via satellite, but customize solutions for customers that provide telco-level service for all their applications, whether voice, video, data, broadcast, VPN, or other emerging networked apps.
