The property has 2 areas originally developed in 1984 by GTE Sprint:  Lower Earth Station and Upper Telecommunication Tower.  We are in the process of building out a new site for more antennas.  The teleport building is a hardened 3,600 square foot facility built by GTE.

Electrical Power:
Power is provided by IREA. We have a transformer with 3-phase, 500kva. A second single-phase transformer with 37.5kva is dedicated to our telecommunication tower which houses our OC3 microwave providing a diverse fiber path to our POP in Castle Rock.

Critical power to the transmission facility is delivered via a commercial fully solid state Leibert power system. All utility power is kept totally separate to avoid noise and interference. The initial backup power is provided by full-time battery-backed UPS, which can produce up to 75 KW of 3-phase power for 15 minutes.  The UPS has the ability to automatically switch without interruption from commercial power to the on-site, diesel-powered generator in the event of a long-term power outage. The generator automatically starts up after 15 seconds of no commercial power.  All of the equipment is continuously on UPS so no interruption should occur.  On-site fuel storage guarantees operation for at least 72 hours.

Fiber and Connectivity Infrastructure

We have 2 each Qwest provided SST/OC-3 fiber to central office Castle Rock (15 miles). This rides on 4 single mode fibers (2 transmit/receive and 2 protect-path).  There are 18 unlit fibers accessible to our property from Qwest.  From Castle Rock we have a provisioned DS3 to Qwest Denver Main with cross connect accessible to all major carriers.

Qwest has been our primary fiber circuit provider for the past 7 years and all build out is performed by Qwest.  We currently have at our Teleport 2 each OC3 circuits with a channel bank of 28 T-1 circuits on one of our OC-3 with 2 each clear channel DS-3 circuits. Our other OC-3 has 3 clear channel DS-3 circuits.  ATCONTACT personnel have immediate access to Qwest engineers and trouble shooters in the event there is a problem.  Our diverse path OC3 helps to preclude any down time to/from our fiber POP.

In addition to and also riding on our OC-3 is our internet backbone provider who provides a 100% uptime and availability on Internet Backbone with intelligent routing through 8 Tier 1 Providers.
